Profile

Product designer, 5+ years, often the only designer on the product. At Afriex I owned cross-border payments design across 40+ markets, covering onboarding, KYC, transfers and virtual cards, taking the app from 3.6 to 4.8 stars and cutting KYC drop-off, while building the company's first design system and first NPS programme. At Konga I designed the internal search service that replaced a third-party vendor and saves $75k+ a year, plus the merchant and payments tooling behind Nigeria's largest marketplace. Most recently I took a social gaming platform from research to a Play Store launch as sole designer. 5 years in banking gave me first-hand experience with financial products, customer needs, risk and commercial targets before I moved into product design, which is why I’m usually involved before the brief is fully formed, making sense of the problem, the constraints, and what is worth solving.

  • Sole designer for a social gaming platform with multiplayer games, tournaments and real-time voice chat; designed the product through pre-launch, with the app subsequently soft-launched on Google Play in April 2026.
  • Designed the Android app and the operations admin dashboard end to end, from research through high-fidelity prototypes
  • Ran foundational user research and competitive analysis to shape product strategy and MVP scope
  • Established the design process and built the component library and design system from 0 to 1
  • Prototyped rapidly and iteratively using AI-assisted tools to explore concepts, validate ideas, and close the gap between concept and production-ready experience

Afriex

  • Led design for core fintech experiences: onboarding, KYC, transactions, virtual cards, referrals and business tools, serving customers in 40+ markets
  • Improved App Store and Play Store ratings from 3.6 to 4.8 through iterative UX redesigns
  • Created and ran the company's first monthly NPS programme, establishing a recurring voice-of-customer input into prioritisation
  • Built and maintained the company's first design system, cutting design and engineering friction across releases
  • Redesigned KYC and onboarding, reducing mid-flow drop-off and improving verification completion across markets.
  • Shipped virtual cards, scheduled transfers, credit builder and secure authentication flows to production
  • Owned weekly product metrics (activation, KYC success, referral conversion, transaction success), partnering with PMs and engineers to prioritise improvements
  • Conducted multi-market research across the US, Canada, UK, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya
  • Introduced design QA and UX quality practices, covering bug triage, error and empty states

  • Designed across Nigeria's largest e-commerce ecosystem: consumer marketplace, payments (KongaPay), logistics, merchant and internal tools
  • Led 0 to 1 design of an internal search service, replacing third-party tooling and saving over $75k a year
  • Contributed to checkout optimisation and the KongaNow rapid-delivery experience, linked to a 24% revenue increase
  • Redesigned merchant (Seller HQ), affiliate and admin platforms, improving onboarding and task completion
